Alfaisal University, in partnership with Tencent, hosted the Game Development Training Workshop, organized by the College of Engineering and Advanced Computing’s Game Innovation Center, a three-day series designed to equip students with practical skills in game design, artificial intelligence (AI), and user-generated content creation through expert-led sessions and hands-on learning.
The workshop was held from October 14 to 16, 2025, with a total of 75 participants completing the training and receiving certificates of completion.
The program featured expert trainers from Tencent, a world-leading internet and technology company who discussed the evolution of diverse game genres, key product development, significantly contributing to the company’s advancements in game investment and R&D growth, introduced students to multi-agent reinforcement learning and human–machine collaboration for game applications and introduced developing with the WOW Editor to make content creation increasingly accessible and efficient, enabling creators to gain considerable rewards from their work.

Interactive Learning and Industry Insights
Each day of the workshop focused on a distinct theme:
- Game Industry Evolution to gain a clear overview of the latest data, gameplay, and monetization trends in the global gaming industry.
- AI in Gaming as a beginner-friendly session for students who are interested in the latest AI technologies and their application in games, with real-world case studies.
- User-Generated Content to dive deep into World of Wonder (WOW) – the UGC game mode of PUBG MOBILE.

Through engaging sessions and live demonstrations, students gained real-world perspectives on how global gaming leaders innovate and shape the industry.
The collaboration between Alfaisal University and Tencent underscores the university’s commitment to bridging academia and industry in Saudi Arabia’s rapidly growing gaming and digital entertainment sector, a key pillar of Vision 2030. The workshop marks another milestone for the Game Innovation Center in empowering students with the technical and creative tools needed to excel in the modern gaming ecosystem.
