Dr. Qasem Ramadan Leads Specialized Organ-on-a-Chip Workshop at MicroTAS 2025 in Adelaide, Showcasing Saudi Research Excellence and Conference Participation

Adelaide, Australia, November 2nd, 2025: Alfaisal University is pleased to announce that Dr. Qasem Ramadan, Research Assistant Professor of Chemistry, led a specialized workshop titled “Organs-on-a-Chip for Pharmacokinetics & Immune/Metabolic Disease Modelling: Engineering, Validation, & Applications” at the 29th International Conference on Miniaturized Systems for Chemistry and Life Sciences (MicroTAS 2025), held from 2–6 November in Adelaide, Australia.

The workshop introduced advanced approaches in organ-on-chip technologies, focusing on their applications in drug-response studies, disease modelling, and translational biomedical research.

This year’s MicroTAS conference featured 14 workshops conducted by leading scientists and academics from Australia, Sweden, Germany, Japan, the United States, Denmark, and France. Dr. Ramadan represented Alfaisal University as the only Saudi Arabian participant among the workshop leaders, contributing to the university’s ongoing engagement in international scientific dialogue.

MicroTAS is regarded as one of the leading international platforms for microfluidics and biomedical engineering, bringing together experts from academia, industry, and research institutions.
