Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — Alfaisal University celebrates the success of its alumna, Aljohara Al Babtain, a key member of the NanoPalm Technology team that won the KPMG Global Tech Innovator competition in Saudi Arabia. As a Deep Nanotech Senior Researcher at NanoPalm, Ms. Al Babtain contributed to the team’s victory, which earned them a spot at the global finals in Lisbon.
NanoPalm’s AI-powered lipid nanoparticle platform was recognized for its breakthrough potential in gene therapy. One of its most notable innovations in targeting Retinitis Pigmentosa with precision “biorobots” was driven by Aljohara’s bold scientific thinking and research. This project not only highlights NanoPalm’s leadership in nanomedicine but also underscores the role of emerging Saudi scientists in leading the future of biotech innovation.
About Aljohara Al Babtain
This award is the latest achievement for Ms. Al Babtain, a testament to her dedication to nanoscience and biotechnology. A graduate of Alfaisal University’s Master’s in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology program in 2023, she is currently pursuing a PhD in Biomedical Sciences. Her work centers on using Polymer Pen Lithography (PPL) to engineer precision nanomedicines and using AI to predict optimal designs.
Ms. Al Babtain’s previous recognitions include winning the inaugural Falling Walls Lab Riyadh 2024, where her research on biorobots and gene therapy earned her the opportunity to present at the Falling Walls Science Summit in Berlin. She was also invited to participate in a DAAD program to explore German research centers, further expanding her professional network and promoting her ideas.
Alfaisal University congratulates Ms. Al Babtain and the entire NanoPalm team on this achievement and wishes them the best as they represent Saudi Arabia on the international stage.
