Boeing solar car team members from the College of Engineering visited Universal Stainless Steel Development Company (USSD Co) on Tuesday November 21st. The visit was coordinated by Eng. Athiq Ahamed and co-supervised by Eng. Aliaa Maar.
Mr. Mohammad Waleed Rihawi the factory manager hosted the students and instructors and they were introduced to industrial manufacturing processes and equipment including Argon welding, CNC punching, bending, and shearing machines. The students received a brief training for TIG welding, which is an essential part of the chassis development for the solar car. The CoE is thankful to USSD for their invitation and the field trip was a valuable learning opportunity for the students.
